About the Chris Treglown Foundation Fund Award 2026

The award is open toaspiring young singers hoping to pursue a career in both the world of Opera & Classical Singing or Musical Theatre. As well as supporting singers nationwide (The Chris Treglown Award Gloucestershire), there is also a separate competition for singers who have Cornish connections (The Chris Treglown Award Cornwall)*.

*PLEASE NOTE: There is a separate application for each competition.

Both competitions feature a first prize of £1000, alongside two judges’ awards of £500.

Performing Opportunities: Invited singers are given the opportunity to perform in aseries of concerts and events in Cornwall during the month of August. Not only do these opportunities give singers the chance to gain valuable performing experience, but they also work as a training ground in stage and performing techniques and learning new repertoire.
